  • All current University of Denver and Iliff students, faculty, and staff
  • Alumni of the Sturm College of Law

A valid Pioneer card must be presented when checking out library material.

Curbside Pickup & Delivery

The Law Library currently offers Curbside pickup for circulating materials. For more information, visit the Curbside Pickup FAQ.

Patrons with borrowing privileges may have circulating materials from the Law Library collection delivered to another library on campus. For more information, visit the Music Library, and Illif Library. For further instructions on how to request items for other DU libraries, visit our Library Delivery FAQ.

Fines and Fees

Fines accrue when library materials with a checkout period of one week or less are overdue. The fine on overdue materials is $2.50 per hour.

Fees accrue when materials are marked lost. This happens to library materials once they are overdue for 30 days. Each lost item accrues a fee of $400. Those with fees on their accounts will have their borrowing privileges suspended, and graduates will not be able to obtain a copy of their transcript until these fees are cleared.

To view details of any fines on your record, log in to your library account. Once signed in, view your loans by selecting your name at the top right corner of the page.

For questions regarding fines, contact the Circulation Desk at (303) 871-6188.

Renewals

You may renew circulating materials one time unless requested by other patrons. Renewals can be obtained through your library account, at the circulation desk, or by calling the library circulation desk at 303-871-6188.

Holds &  Renewals

Borrowers may place holds on circulating items that are unavailable. You will be notified by email that the item is being held for you at the Circulation Desk once it is available. Hold items will be held for seven days before they are reshelved and made available to other users. For more information on how to place a hold, visit the Holds FAQ.

A recall happens when another borrower places a hold on an item checked out to you. At that point, you will not be able to renew the item and must return the item by it's due date.
