Westlaw, Lexis & Bloomberg

The Westminster Law Library provides access to Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg Law to current law school students, faculty, and staff. These legal research platforms require individual passwords to access.

When you register for an account with Westlaw, Lexis+, and Bloomberg Law, you agree to the terms of service for the database. Please review the terms of service for use of each database.

How Do I Get My Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Passwords?

Individual passwords are provided to law students, law faculty, and law staff for Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg. These databases may only be used for educational purposes.

  • Law Students

    First-year students receive passwords as part of the admissions process. Passwords will be sent to students along with other orientation information before school starts. Database training is a required part of the Lawyering Process curriculum. If you have questions about passwords, please contact our Reference Department at help@law-du.libanswers.com.

    Upper-level law students will use the same passwords throughout their time at the DU College of Law. Students who have lost or forgotten their passwords can use the password retrieval options provided by the database vendor.

  • Visiting & Transfer Students

    Visiting and Transfer students receive passwords as part of the admissions process. Passwords will be sent to students along with other orientation information before school starts. If you have questions about passwords, please contact our Reference Department at help@law-du.libanswers.com

  • Tax Students

    Graduate tax students receive their LexisNexis, Westlaw, Checkpoint,  & Bloomberg passwords during Orientation.
     

  • LLM, Master’s, and MSLA Students

    Students in these graduate programs receive their passwords during Orientation. 
     

  • Law Faculty

    New faculty will receive their passwords from Mike Whitlow, our Faculty Services Librarian. 

  • Law Adjunct Faculty

    Adjunct faculty are provided access to legal databases for the semester they are employed at the law school. The databases can only be used for non-commercial educational purposes associated with coursework.

    Adjunct faculty for the College of Law can request passwords from our Faculty Services Department at facultyhelp@law-du.libanswers.com.

     

  • University of Denver Students & Faculty

    Non-law students and faculty at the University of Denver are not allowed full Westlaw or LexisNexis access due to our contractual arrangement with these companies. Non-Law student and faculty can perform legal research on LexisNexis's Nexis Uni.
