Professional Biography

Rebecca Schneider joined the Westminster Law Library in 2024 as the Head of Access Services. Before working at the Law Library, Rebecca worked in a medical library, then an engineering library. Rebecca specializes in student engagement, customer service in libraries, circulation and stacks maintenance, resource sharing, and embedded inclusion into spaces and policies. Some of her more memorable tasks have been curating a collection of anatomical models, creating family friendly activity kits for students with young children, and creating sensory friendly study spaces to support neurodiversity.
 
Rebecca received her MLIS in 2023 from San Jose State University. Her scholarly interests include access services in academic libraries, assessment and data management, emerging technology in library science, contemporary information seeking behaviors, and library outreach/engagement.
 
Before working in libraries, Rebecca served for two years in the Colorado Americorps teaching literacy in Title 1 Elementary Schools which is where she discovered her interest in access to information as a form of social justice.
